Delhiites Welcome Lord Ganesha....

For the first time in the history of #Ganeashotsav in #Delhi Ganesh Mandalals will be given awards for best decoration, eco-friendly idols and surroundings, cleanliness, participation etc. The awards have been announced by #DelhiMarathiPratishthan, the hardly a year old organisation that gave Maharashtrian population in Delhi NCR quality programmes like 'Diwali Pahat' and the popular TV show 'Chala Java Yeu Dya'.

Environment friendliness is the popular theme in the capital this year. Ganesh Utsav is becoming popular among non-Marathi Delhiites too.

Ganeshotsav, till recently celebrated by Marathi families in the capital is fast becoming popular among the North Indian families and organisations. According to estimates over 200 Mandals have installed Ganesh idols across Delhi.

Maratha Mitra Mandal which runs Chougule H S School in Delhi, one of the two schools that teach Marathi, took out a procession with school children dressed in Marathi attire, dancing to the beats of drums and cymbals before the ceremonial installation of Ganesh idol. Maratha Mitra Mandal's is said to be the oldest Ganesh Mandal in the capital. 

Shri Ganesh Seva Mandal in East Delhi this year invited Avartan Dhol tasha Pathak of Pune to play during the Pratishthapana.
