" I have more than ten books in Marathi", Malti Joshi said, smiling, as she was escorted to the lobby of the IIC where a large number of well wishers were waiting to congratulate her on being conferred Padmashri by President of India. The questioner wanted to know if, even after spending time in Madhya Prdesh, she was in touch with Marathi. "My latest article has appeared in 'Maher'", she added.

A packed audience at CD Deshmukh auditorium of India International Centre gave a standing ovation to Malti ji and the family.

It was a unique function..'Hamari Aai', a celebration by the Joshis in honour of Malti ji and release of book 'Kuchh Alpviraam', written by Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, her son.

In Marathi some would call it a दुग्ध शर्करा योग..!

Occasion was a get together - 'Hamari Aai'-, organised by Dr. Joshi to celebrate Padmashri to Malti ji and also release of his latest book.

It is the title 'Padmashri' that stands honoured this evening on being conferred on Malti ji, said President of Indira Gandhi National Center of Arts Rambahadur Rai.

I am good at story telling said Malti ji and not giving speeches. The lucid 'कथा कथन' that followed held the audience spell bound. The publisher, प्रभात, made available copies of the book to well wishers present at the function.
